The Winery
The Cannibal Creek Winery is in the attractive Gippsland hinterland of the M1 freeway. Here, broad meadows with pockets of trees and forest give a timeless pastoral feel, and the impression is reinforced by Cannibal Creek's country-style corrugated iron buildings. The proprietors are very friendly and wine quality is outstanding with some of the best chardonnay, sauvignon blanc and pinot noir in the region.' Ralph Kyte-Powell, visitvictoria.com
The winery at Cannibal is set in an old farm barn built in the early 1900's by the Weatherhead family, from timber off Weatherhead Hill (visible from the vineyard). As it is not a large building, it is mostly used for barrel store and transfer tanks.
The tasting room is attached to the winery, so cellar door visitors are virtually on the spot.
